This sporty hike will take you over the Lachens mountain, which forms the geographical and climatic boundary between the Mediterranean Côte d'Azur and the mountainous Alps.

The canton of Comps-sur-Artuby comprises nine villages (Bargème, La Bastide, le Bourguet, Brenon, Châteauvieux, la Martre, la Roque-Escalpon, Trigance and Comps-sur-Artuby). The mountains dominating the Artuby are Mont Lachens at 1714 meters, the highest peak in the Var, and Mont du Brouis at 1592 meters.
