Saint-Paul-en-Foret heritage trail

About

Set in the heart of the Forêt Royale, with its centuries-old pines and cork oaks, Saint-Paul-en-Forêt, protected by the Saint-Joseph chapel towering above its roofs, is a delight to explore along the botanical trails of the Rioutard and Endre lakes.

Built on Roman remains, the present-day village of Saint-Paul-en-Forêt dates back to the 13th century. Formerly called "Saint-Paul-la-Galline-Grasse", it was attached to the commune of Fayence in 1790, becoming an independent commune in 1824. Its known origins date back to the early 11th century.
